Remote Learning

This page will tell you everything you need to know about REMOTE LEARNING during

National Lockdowns and Pupil Self isolation periods.

During the Coronavirus pandemic there has been significant disruption to the education of children and school life. During the partial school closures in March, pupils were asked to find their learning on their class blog and complete daily tasks and project based learning. However, this time we are moving to an interactive learning platform called SEE-SAW! This will be our main tool, however, we will also continue to use Accelerated Reader, MyON bookshelf, Spelling Shed, TTRockstars, Busy Things and Number Bots to supplement the children's learning opportunities.

On this page we have included a whole host of guides, FAQ's, links, video clips and more to ensure that you have everything you need to support 'home learning.'

If you would like to get in touch or require any additional support please email;

Supporting your child

NSPCC have shared advice articles on topics that will be on the minds of most parent/carers looking after children during lockdown. A few examples: online safety, staying home alone, working from home and supporting SEND children. You can find out more:

JCP Support during School Closure

Each week our 'Learning Mentor' team will provide a 'virtual' coffee break chat on a variety of subjects to support you and your child through this difficult time. Look out for your weekly invite!

Homeschooling

If you are struggling to find enough tech to go round for virtual learning, find out about low-cost/repurposed devices that can be used. Speak to school, too, as they may be able to apply for tech or mobile data on your behalf.
For those looking to supplement school-provided materials and virtual lessons, the BBC are now showing curriculum content on TV every weekday. There will be primary school materials from 9am to 12pm on CBBC, with at least two hours of programming to support the GCSE curriculum on BBC two. There’s also loads of useful content for all age ranges on BBC Bitesize. If you’re panicking about how tough you or your child find home-schooling, remember teachers ultimately want the same as you: for your child to be healthy and happy! The most important thing you can do is love and support them.

How to use SEE-SAW

Seesaw is a platform for student engagement. Teachers can empower students to create, reflect, share, and collaborate. Students “show what they know? using photos, videos, drawings, text, PDFs, and links. It’s simple to get student work in one place and share with families, and nothing is shared without teacher approval.

Here are some handy guides and video clips that explain all things See-Saw ! ðŸ˜Å½
