What is Wow?
WOW weeks were designed because we wanted to plan and deliver something unique for our children.
Our WOW weeks were designed by us and are not an ‘off the shelf’ scheme or fashionable initiative. They were developed as an opportunity to really engage our children and to provide experiences that they might not normally get with their family or in their community.
We use the tag line ‘Filling the gaps’ to highlight how we want all of our children to experience something new and difference through their Joseph Cash journey.
Over the years, it has changed and developed focusing on curriculum topics, outdoor learning, developing a growth mindset and working together.
In the Autumn term, we have an Enterprise WOW week where the children learn about running a business, budgeting, working as a team, and finally making and selling a product at our Winter Fayre.
The Summer term WOW week is all about ‘Learning outside the classroom’ and provides the children with opportunities to develop their Growth Mindset skills, problem solving, Forest School skills and enables the children to really challenge themselves.
Ongoing throughout the year, we have Enrichment weeks and days focusing on specific subjects. This includes RE week, MFL week, Maths week, Science Week, Art and Design Week, History days (linked to British Values) and Sports day.
