Around the world
We have visited 5 continents over the past few weeks. We as a class have learnt many interesting facts about different countries like Africa, Australia, and Dubai. We have travelled over every ocean and have loved learning about our world.
Throughout maths we have been continuously practising our 2, 5, and 10 times table. The children have learnt division facts linked to multiplication. We have also practised our place value for column addition and column subtraction to help us move forward and be confident at maths. We have learnt our times table through various songs that we have sourced through the internet.
Aalfred and Aalbert
We have learnt many facts about how aardvarks live and what they look like. The children have written their own fact files about aardvarks which links in with our English work. For PSHE the children looked at the friendship story between Aalfred and Aalbert and discussed what makes a good friend. The children also thought about how to find common grounds between two people and how to solve problems when things go quite go to plan. They have really enjoyed reading the story of Aalfred and Aalbert.
As a class we thought about how we want to be in year 3 some of these ideas included being resilient, being helpful, being kind and using our manners. Together we all agreed on these ideas and made them into bumble bees to represent 3KBS rules to a caring classroom.
