  • Friday 28 May 2021 6RS May learning We have had a busy month in 6RS and have enjoyed starting a new class text and new creative curriculum topics.
  • Tuesday 27 April 2021 6RS April learning We have continued to read Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’. We used the internet to research Scotland as this is where the story is set. We then used the facts to create a persuasive brochure persuading people to visit Scotland. We are convinced that after reading our texts, you will want to visit Scotland and learn about some of the fascinating places mentioned in story of Macbeth.
  • Wednesday 31 March 2021 6RS March learning We started our new text, Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’. Since we started reading the text, we have been completely captivated by this story of greed and treason. We have used the ideas from the text to write our own letter from Macbeth to Lady Macbeth, sharing his experience of encountering the three witches on the heath. We also had a discussion about who is responsible for the death of Duncan. Believe it or not, most of us thought that Lady Macbeth was responsible! We have also revisited descriptive language and wrote a description of the witches.

  • Wednesday 16 December 2020 6RS December learning We had a live zoom session with a very famous author– Ruth Eastham, author of ‘The Memory Cage’.
  • Tuesday 1 December 2020 6RS November learning We are nearly at the end of our class text ‘The Memory cage’, and we have been completely hooked throughout the story. Thinking about the character of Grandad, we wrote our own stories that include a flashback. We have also continued to build our grammar skills by looking at adjective phrases and using these to describe the attic in the book. In addition to this, we developed our playscript writing skills and created a playscript for the Smith family. Furthermore, we have been using ‘Spelling shed’ to improve out spelling skills as well as weekly spelling practice and tests.
  • Tuesday 20 October 2020 6RS October learning We are continuing to read our class text – The Memory Cage.
